SNHU Spotlight: Brittany MacDonald, BS in Sport Management Grad

Brittany MacDonald, a 2025 SNHU graduate who earned her bachelor's degree in sports management.Brittany MacDonald ’25 knew she wanted to go back to school to further her career. But as a busy wife and working mother, she needed an online program that allowed her to complete schoolwork on her schedule. լƵ (SNHU) ended up being the fit she needed.

“I got married, I had my baby. I was able to take classes, work and do everything else I needed to do,” she said.

MacDonald enrolled in SNHU’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sport Management program with a goal of breaking into the industry. Ultimately, she hopes to use her degree to become an equipment manager for a professional hockey team — and she feels the skills and knowledge she gained in her degree program at SNHU will help her get there. She gained confidence along the way, too. She said that she looks forward to walking into an interview and saying, “Hey, I’m here, and I can do this.”

As a first-generation college student, support mattered to MacDonald — and she found no shortage of support at SNHU.

“My academic advisor was the best,” she said. “I had such great professors.”

MacDonald traveled to New Hampshire from her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to walk the stage at Commencement, describing the moment as surreal. As she reflected on her accomplishments, she found herself thinking about how transformative the experience of earning her degree had been for her.

“I am such a different person from when I started to where I am now,” she said. “I feel like I’ve grown as a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter. I’m a new me.”

When asked what advice she’d give to someone considering earning their degree from SNHU, MacDonald didn’t skip a beat.

“I want people to know that it is so worth it,” she said. “You can work, you can have a family, anything. Stop waiting and just enroll. You’ve got this, and you can do this.”
